The Centre of Christian-Muslim Understanding & Partnership (CCMUP), in collaboration with SAT-7 TV channel and its affiliated program “Our Generation+”, and the Gusour Cultural Centre, organized a public talk on entrepreneurship featuring Mme. Dina Ghabbour — a leading Egyptian businesswoman and a key figure in Egypt’s economic and developmental landscape.
The event is part of a series entitled “Success Stories“, in which prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders frankly share their professional experiences, primarily with youth and young professionals; bringing them together irrespective of their different faith and cultural backgrounds to inspire them to help address common societal and economic challenges.
Held at the All Saints Anglican Cathedral in Zamalek, in the presence of Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Alexandria, and Archbishop-Emeritus Dr. Mouneer Anis, CCMUP Director, the event gathered a diverse audience of young professionals, students, and community leaders to engage with Mme. Ghabbour’s personal journey and insights on leadership, innovation, and social impact.
Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy opened the event, saying, “I welcome one of the inspiring figures in our community, Mrs. Dina Ghabbour — not only for her professional success or personal distinction, but for being a living model of servant leadership, and of success rooted in values and a commitment to human and societal wellbeing.”
He continued, “What distinguishes her achievements is not only her ability to attain influential positions, but also her use of these platforms to empower others — especially youth — and to support initiatives that uplift the poor and marginalized. She encourages belief in the idea that success is not about rising above others, but rising with them, and serving not out of need, but from a place of strength and responsibility.”
In her talk with the interviewer Mme. Rita Samir, Mme. Ghabbour — CEO of the Ghabbour Foundation for Development and a judge on “Shark Tank Egypt” — shared formative stories from her childhood, citing her mother’s compassion and generosity as a lasting influence. She spoke of her experiences living abroad and the serious challenges she faced, emphasizing that “it is through challenges that we learn, are truly shaped and that our paths are transformed.”
She concluded by outlining the criteria she uses when choosing projects or individuals to invest in, highlighting that “success stems from genuine belief in the mission, determination to achieve it, and careful risk assessment.”
The event concluded with an open Q&A session, during which audience members engaged directly with Mme. Ghabbour on topics related to entrepreneurship, leadership, and community development.
In his brief remarks, Mr. Kareem Gerges, CCMUP’s Director of International Partnerships and Communications, welcomed the attendees and offered a short introduction about both CCMUP & Gusour, highlighting that “The Centre of Christian-Muslim Understanding & Partnership, established in 2022 within the Anglican Diocese of Egypt, is dedicated to promoting peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding among people of different faiths and cultures in Egypt and beyond, in collaboration with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Egyptian Family House. This event is also organized in cooperation with the Gusour Cultural Centre, affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of Egypt, which aims to build bridges of peace and love through cultural and artistic activities.”
