Cairo, Egypt – 15 October 2025
The Centre for Christian-Muslim Understanding and Partnership (CCMUP) welcomed a group of 17 postgraduate students pursuing a Master’s in Transformational Development, a program affiliated with Eastern College and Melbourne School of Theology in Australia.
The visiting group, comprising students from diverse faith backgrounds, including Coptic Orthodox, Evangelical, and Catholic traditions, are all actively engaged in community development and social transformation initiatives in Egypt and abroad.
During their visit, the students were introduced to the Centre’s mission, programs, and projects that focus on promoting interfaith dialogue, peacebuilding, and social cohesion across Egypt. The session included presentations on CCMUP’s community-based initiatives and discussions highlighting the importance of and challenges to mutual understanding and cooperation between people of different faiths.
The encounter also provided an opportunity for mutual learning and exchange. While the students explored the Centre’s approaches to interreligious peacebuilding, the CCMUP team gained valuable insights from the students’ own experiences and perspectives in community development.
The visit concluded with an open dialogue session where participants shared reflections on the role of faith, leadership, and community engagement in building more peaceful and inclusive societies.
