The Centre of Christian-Muslim Understanding and Partnership (CCMUP) organized the closing ceremony of its “Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding” project in Alexandria, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of dialogue and strengthen the values of peaceful coexistence within society.
The event was attended by Archbishop Dr. Samy Fawzy, Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Alexandria, alongside a number of religious and community leaders. Also in attendance were Rev. David Aziz, Dean of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Mansheya, Alexandria, and Rev. Samir Dawoud, Director of Community Initiatives at CCMUP, representing Bishop Dr. Mouneer Anis, Archbishop-Emeritus and Director of the Centre.
The ceremony further welcomed Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim El-Gamal, Coordinator of the Egyptian Family House in Alexandria, and Member of Parliament Ihab Zakaria, reflecting the importance of collaboration between religious and civic institutions in advancing community peace efforts.
Graduates of the training programs also took part in the closing ceremony, where they received certificates of appreciation and were encouraged to apply the knowledge and skills they had acquired in service of their communities.
The event marked the culmination of the project’s activities, which aimed to equip participants with practical skills in conflict management and peacebuilding, contributing to stronger social cohesion and fostering a culture of dialogue and mutual understanding among diverse segments of society.
