Minya, Egypt – Saturday, 4 April 2026

The Centre for Christian-Muslim Understanding and Partnership (CCMUP), in collaboration with the Egyptian Family House in El-Minya and the Governorate of El-Minya, organized a ceremony to award certificates to thirty participants who successfully completed training programs in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. The event forms part of ongoing joint efforts to promote a culture of dialogue and strengthen the values of peaceful coexistence within the community.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Emad Kadwani, Governor of Minya, alongside Bishop Philopater, Sheikh Essam Hassouna, and Mr. Maqarr El-Omda representing the Egyptian Family House in Minya. Also present were Bishop Dr. Mouneer Anis, Director of CCMUP, and Mr. Kareem Gerges, Director of International Partnerships at the Centre.

In his remarks, the Governor of Minya expressed his deep appreciation for the training programs organized by CCMUP in partnership with the Egyptian Family House, commending their vital role in promoting a culture of community peace, strengthening social cohesion, and reinforcing the values of justice, equality, and shared citizenship.

For his part, Bishop Dr. Mouneer Anis underscored the fundamental importance of such initiatives in advancing inclusive citizenship. He emphasized that genuine peace begins with the promotion of justice and equality, where all citizens are equal and active members of society, enjoying the same rights and fulfilling the same responsibilities without discrimination or exclusion. He added that these efforts contribute to building a more cohesive and just society, paving the way toward a more prosperous and peaceful Egypt.

The ceremony marked the culmination of a series of training programs targeting community leaders and youth from diverse backgrounds. The programs aimed to equip participants with practical skills in conflict management and peacebuilding, helping to reduce tensions and foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding.

Through such initiatives, CCMUP continues, in partnership with its stakeholders, to build bridges of trust among different segments of Egyptian society, reaffirming its firm belief that dialogue, mutual understanding, justice, and equality are essential foundations for sustainable peace and inclusive development.

I respect and admire Angela Merkel. She is a great Chancellor. She is a lady of principals. Standing by the truth gave her strength and authority. She confronted international problems and made peace for the nations. She opened her country for refugees against all opposition.
