Cairo –  Monday 9 March 2026

In an initiative embodying the spirit of fraternity and national unity, the Centre of Christian-Muslim Understanding & Partnership (CCMUP) organized a Ramadan Iftar in collaboration with St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. The event took place on Monday, March 9, at the Church in the Heliopolis district of Cairo.

The gathering was attended by Bishop Dr. Mouneer Anis, Director of CCMUP, and Archdeacon Emad Basilios, Priest of the Church, alongside several religious leaders and a diverse group of young Egyptian and foreign Muslims and Christians.

On the sidelines of the Iftar banquet, a seminar was held on the concept of “Inclusive Citizenship“ and its pivotal role in Egypt’s national development. Bishop Dr. Mouneer Anis led the dialogue, emphasizing that collective action and inclusive citizenship are the fundamental pillars for the nation’s future. The session saw active engagement from attendees, who contributed insights on promoting peaceful coexistence and building bridges of understanding across society.

This event is part of a series of projects spearheaded by CCMUP to deepen partnership, cooperation, and peace-building in Egypt.

I respect and admire Angela Merkel. She is a great Chancellor. She is a lady of principals. Standing by the truth gave her strength and authority. She confronted international problems and made peace for the nations. She opened her country for refugees against all opposition.
